Tea Time Talk: Caring for the Ten Thousand Things

Like last month, I get to meet up with my guests for today in person! It is by sheer good luck that two of the leading practitioners of veterinary acupuncture, Patricia Bailey and Liane Sperlich, happen to be on Whidbey Island right this weekend to work on a book project together. While they will be very busy and I wouldn’t want to interrupt their creative process, I have managed to bribe them with the promise of a breakfast of home-made goat cheese, eggs, and bread (and of course lots of animal love), to share their insights and pressing questions with the rest of us. Besides the fact that many of us are animal lovers and are eager to learn more about Chinese veterinary medicine, I personally am always interested in how the grand vision of harmonizing Heaven and Earth, with humanity in the middle, manifests in a clinical veterinary practice. Who knows where this conversation will lead. If you are a member of my Imperial Tutor mentorship and find yourself in the vicinity and interested in attending in person, please get in touch with me. To find out more about Liane’s work, check out this podcast with Liane on “The Integrative Veterinarian.”

This is the monthly live event of my Imperial Tutor mentorship. I generally invite an important voice or two in Chinese medicine (practitioner of the East Asian healing arts, philosopher, anthropologist, historian, translator, author etc.) for a casual chat. While this is a members-only event, the general public can always join for a 9-day $9 trial to check it out. Started during the pandemic as a way to keep us all connected via Zoom, I am now slowly going back to some in-person gatherings, which will of course always be hybrid so that Imperial Tutor members can participate live on Zoom or watch the recordings afterwards.
