Tea Time Talk on Chinese Medicine Education

This is the monthly live event, on the second Friday or Saturday of each month, as part of my Imperial Tutor mentorship. I either present a more formal lecture myself, followed by a lively discussion (what used to be called “History Train Lectures”), or I invite an important voice or two in Chinese medicine (practitioner of the East Asian healing arts, philosopher, anthropologist, historian, translator, author etc.) for a casual chat. While this is a members-only event, the general public can always join for a 9-day $9 trial to check it out.

For this month, let’s explore the good and the bad parts of Chinese medicine education, in TCM and classical styles, from the foundations to advanced specialized skills, and from the student’s and the teacher’s perspective.

My conversation partner for this event, John Aguilar, is the perfect person to shed some light on this topic for us as he is not only an eternal student, of the medicine and the language and literature, but also one of the most committed hard-working teachers in our profession who really really cares about supporting his students and contributing to the health and growth of our profession.
