Another Happy Goat Update

My dear friends, colleagues, supporters, students, and teachers!

Here comes yet another update on the Happy Goat Expansion project….

You may have noticed that I have been less proactive about publicizing the auction, and the related GoFundMe campaign, than I should have been lately. I owe you all an explanation. This update is going to be short, however, because I am thick in the midst of trying to make my Happy Goat Expansion actually happen. It’s one of those days!

First off, I need to inform you that I have extended the official end of the online auction by 7 days and I very much hope that you will not be upset with me for doing so. The official end date of the auction is now set for February 17 at 3 pm Pacific Time.

Here is my explanation:

I had made an offer on the future home for Happy Goat Productions contingent on the sale of my current home, and thanks to your generous donations and bids, I was able to lower the sale price of my house to a really fair price point where we have been getting tons of interest. BUT we have not been able to find that one perfect match for the place, and then, a few days ago, my contract for the other place expired. So I have been scrambling to figure out another way to make this happen. I have been putting off writing this update because every day has been looking like I would be able to give you the good news, but it just has not happened YET. Today, it feels like a page has been turned and I have found a solution. I will let you know for sure when it’s all done. This has been a pretty challenging situation for me, an emotional roller-coaster with huge ups and downs, a lovely opportunity (spoken with a giant hunk of sarcasm) to practice non-attachment and to just surrender to whatever will happen. So I don’t quite have good news yet, but feel confident enough to extend the auction and fundraising campaign. Until earlier today actually, I was still wondering whether I would have to call the whole thing off and refund any donations, since I certainly wouldn’t take your money and support if I weren’t going to need it for this new space. The GREAT NEWS is that I once again have hope, more realistic actually than ever before, that good news are just around the bend. I would wait until I was absolutely certain but you need an explanation on why I am extending the auction deadline. So that’s it.

There is no way that I would have found the strength, courage, persistence, and trust in my business and work and meaning in life that I have needed to make this move happen, had it not been for all of your support, near and far, whether professional and personal, spiritual and material. Here I just want to mention my poor neighbors who have given me shoulders to cry on, tissues for the floods of tears, soups to keep me going, and lots of hugs. Lots of really nice long strong hugs. I am so grateful to the wonderful community I live in, including the lovely volunteers, organizers, and eaters at the Langley Open Table soup kitchen where I have been helping out and whose prayers and kindness and radical generosity have convinced me that Whidbey Island is so much more than the mostly empty millionaire mansions on the beach. I am here to stay. Put down roots. And share the magic with those of you who can come join me for intimate retreats, whether in person or in blended situation to include the rest of you via zoom where appropriate.

I can’t wait!

Thank you all, and I so very much hope that my next update will come soon and will contain the good news that will allow me to really forge ahead with the fundraiser and auction. Stay tuned.

A deep bow of gratitude.
